The Colegio de San Juan de Letran - Manaoag faculty and staff had a seminar on Personal Development and Etiquette last June 10, 2022. In collaboration with Phoenix Publishing Company, the seminar was conducted on the third floor of St. Vicente Liem Dela Paz building. Dr. Evangeline S. Panganiban served as the resource speaker.

Dr. Evangeline S. Panganiban is an experienced educator who holds the following degrees from the University of the Philippines, Diliman: a Doctor of Philosophy in Philippine Studies, a Master of Arts in Asian Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in History. She is a full-time faculty member at La Salle Green Hills and is currently the subject coordinator of the Social Science Department. She is also the national president of the Kapisanan ng mga Guro sa Pilipinas, Top Inc. or KAGURO.

Some of the chosen teachers took part in a straightforward drill that Dr. Panganiban used to introduce her lecture. How teachers would introduce themselves to their students on the first day of class was the focus of the drill.

What is personality?, Why is it vital for instructors to build their personalities?, Five Dimensions of Personality, Factors Influencing Personality Traits, Reflections of Personality, Soft Skills for Teachers, and Professional Etiquette Tips were the topics covered and discussed by the resource speaker.

In closing the seminar, Dr. Panganiban gave this short reminder by Parker J. Palmer, “Good teachers join self, subject, and students in the fabric of life…they can weave a complex web of connections between themselves, their subjects, and their students so that students can learn to contrive a world for themselves.”

Teachers are held to higher standards since they serve as students' second parents or guardians and role models. Teaching requires constant preparation - mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Faculty and staff at Colegio de San Juan de Letran - Manaoag are very appreciative of Dr. Evangeline S. Panganiban and Phoenix Publishing Company for conducting the said informative seminar. Trainings and seminars like this can help them enhance their personality, confidence, and communication skills.
